In God We Trust →
Spent a good amount of time at the In God We Trust sample sale in SoHo for Racked, resisting discounted Hyden Yoo pieces.  To say it was difficult would be beyond an understatement.  Point is, it’s worth going.

Back in Action →
Stopped by the Group Seize sur Vingt sale for Racked today to check out a bunch of button-down shirts.  Fun.  A word of warning: Be careful not to trip over the bucket catching the drip from the leaky ceiling.

Considering Railroad Suburbs →
For a comparison piece on the suburbs of Connecticut, Boston, and New York, click away. The piece is in relation to James Howard Kunstler’s The Geography of Nowhere. A class at Gallatin called “A Sense of Place” hosts an entire site with weekly blog entries from students. My blog is here, and will gradually get more interesting as the semester continues.

Luzinterruptus’ ‘intervention’ was carried out on the particularly freezing night of January 5, installing twelve lamp and detective book combos throughout Madrid.” (via PSFK) As New York may...

Foodstuffs:
Just kidding about that new bistro’s competition - Gowanus Lounge is reporting that both Kitchen Bar and Little D Eatery are for sale.  SAD.  Both of these places were quite good for different reasons: KB for their brunches and good service and Little D for their delicious (but pricey) dishes.

I Hate
when you want to warn people about bad viral marketing campaigns but you don’t want to give the product/program any publicity, no matter how insignificant. That said, avoid Union Square today.

Whilst out and about this evening, I noticed construction workers closing up the site of what used to be my favorite bodega. I miss this bodega for a number of reasons.  Firstly, they had a friendly staff who wouldn’t pester you but remembered your face and would make small talk, especially if you spoke Spanish.  What’s more, they would willingly give you to-go cups for Prospect Park...

The Oak 405060 Sale →
My rather brief and inconsequential comment on the Oak sale made it to a Quicklink on Racked!  Sweet.  Here’s an example of one of the “be-strapped” items, from their “bondage” line:
